The ornaments are in Raku ceramic, an old Japanese method used in the 16th century, but renewed and reinvented in the West. Hand-prepared and decorated by a skilled ceramist exclusively for Flli Barbieri, using a semirefractory cob, smalts, oxides, crystals and nitrates.
The beauty of live colours is obtained by extracting the pieces from the furnace, still in the incandescent state at a temperature of 980 degrees, and through a series of operations causing thermal shock and a considerable "reduction, to give them metallic lustre, reflection, iridescence and special effects.
In Raku, the results are not always constant, and this is precisely its beauty, where the protagonists are earth, water, air and fire.
